Wouldn't it be like hating Americans because one of them committed a crime?

Wait, the USB doesn't work or the computer?

The computer is now working fine but in the process of mending the computer, it corrupted my USB, so I cannot access any of the files and it keeps asking me to reformat the USB which will wipe the entire thing clean.

If only I could just email it to myself but I can't even open the file folder - every time I try to, an error message pops up. I've tried error scans, virus scans, several different file recovery programs, nothing is working.

Not only have I lost my novel, but also several almost-finished updates for some of my fanfics, plus a few new ones I was working on. And all my school assignment and all my apps for other rpgs, all my graphics. Everything. All gone.

I'm sorry about all your work, I can't imagine how horrible that is. At least the laptop is still working now. I hope you can get some of it back. Have you tried using it on a different computer? Sometimes it's not the drive it's the port, although I'm not sure if that's better or worse...

Exactly what message does it give you when you try to plug in the USB drive? I'm a bit of a computer whiz, so I can try to help. For free, no less.


I know there are some file recovery apps on the internet, you could try one of those.

You also have my complete sympathy, one time my stepfather destroyed my entire computer by wrecking the hard drive's ribbon cable port. I had an incredibly important Tech Prep presentation due about half a week after that, and I lost months of work.
