We've been having an odd amount of problems recently, so I figured I'd make this post to clear things up. Do any of the following and your audition will be rejected. Instantly. Seriously, the instant you do any of these things I will stop reading and immediately reject it, lock it, and move on with my day.
#1. Not bothering to use the form. It's there for a reason. If you don't use it, I won't even bother to READ the audition, it's just an automatic rejection.
#2. Leaving spots on the form blank.
#3. Not bothering to use complete sentences. C'mon, people, it's written right there on the form about eight times.
#4. Any "psycho killer/murderer" characters. The show is set in Canada, not the dark ages--murderers go to prison, not reality TV. (Not only that, 99% of "psycho killer" characters are as boring as they are unrealistic.)
#5. Any characters with any sort of "magical" ability. If you have to give your character magical talk-to-animal abilities to be unique, then they're not unique. They're boring and you're trying to pour sprinkles on them to make them interesting.
#6. Any mention of your character knowing or being related to a canon character from the show.
#7. Any inhuman traits. Cat eyes, wolf ears, etc. Competitors in this show are human.
#8. Mentioning an exotic pet that is something you can't get at a pet store. I'm an exotic animal owner in real life, and there are a LOT of laws involved in their proper care and acquirement. Seeing exotic pets be inaccurately portrayed just pisses me off, so it won't be happening here. Having an iguana or a ball python or a parrot is fine. Being an idiot and claiming you have a panther or a dolphin or a falcon is not fine and will get you rejected.
