Character Name: Moonbeam O'Hara
Archetype: The Flower Child
Gender: Male
Description: Moonbeam is a tiny boy, standing at the miniature height of 4’10. He’s also extremely scrawny and only weighs in 90 pounds, most likely all of the other contestants will tower over than him, and he’ll be the tiniest contestant. Though, his puny height and weight never seem to get to him, since he is a firm believer of “inner beauty”. Moonbeam’s wavy hair a lovely shade of platinum blonde, and it falls down to his shoulders. Often times it’s littered with small flowers (like daisies), but he also dons a larger flower crown made up of salmon colored roses. He possesses bright aquamarine deep set eyes, which are often lined in a light coating of black eyeliner. His face is heart shaped and is often framed quite nicely by his wavy hair. He has fair skin and his complexion often lacks any sort of blemishes, due to his “homemade herbal remedies”.
Moonbeam’s clothing is composed of a few pieces, overall it gives off his nature allowing one to easily know he’s the “Flower Child” type. On his torso Moonbeam wears loose short-sleeve rainbow tie dye tee-shirt, and on his legs he wears a pair of more form fitting chocolate brown yoga pants. As far a shoes go, Moonbeam prefers to remain barefoot (he feels like it connects him with earth more), though he understands in a competition like this that it wouldn’t be the smartest thing to do. So when required (by Chris or the challenge simply calls for it) he’ll put on a simple pair of dark brown flip-flops. Also, though he isn’t a large fan of jewelry, he wears a peace sign pendant necklace.
Personality: Moonbeam is a pure embodiment of the term “Hippie”. He is very easy going and relaxed, in a constant state of “chill”. He is a friendly boy, with a kind smile and a sunny disposition. Even though he is often times quite laid back and in a go with the flow type state, he can easily become quite enthusiastic and energetic when it comes to something he loves or is simply excited about. He also has a natural knack for breaking up fights and restoring peace, often times people find his calming nature soothing. Moonbeam is a gentle being who prefers not to involve himself in physical violence, believing that it's never the answer; because of this, Moonbeam deemed himself a pacifist. Even though he doesn’t believe in conflict, Moonbeam is far from spineless, he knows how to stand up for himself without hurting another being. He’s also extremely happy go-lucky, and is hardly ever upset, even in the darkest situations.
Moonbeam is a major advocate for animal equality, environmental care awareness, and harmful pollution awareness. These beliefs have made him a vegetarian and a major tree-hugger. Most likely at some point in the show, Moonbeam will attempt to use the confessional to give a mini public service announcement regarding these things to make the viewers at home more aware. If he wins, he’s decided to split up the prize money and donate it to various charities who support his beliefs. On a similarly related note, animals also seem to like him very much, sensing that he feels like they’re his equals, large animals which would most likely provide an issue for other campers probably wouldn’t be too much against him. Moonbeam is also non-judgmental and will not judge anyone until knowing their true personality, feeling like everyone is beautiful on the inside until shown to be otherwise.
Skills: Moonbeam's quite adept with animals, as mentioned in his personality; they tend to be drawn to him. He's also a natural born peace maker, so he'll often be able to keep people in check who tend to clash heads. Though they certainly won't be singing Kumbaya while holding hands (much to Moonbeam's displease), they won't be entirely at one another's throats.
Flaws: His accepting nature, and belief that everyone is good until proven otherwise, makes him perfectly susceptible to manipulation from the more cunning competitors. His vow of pacifism can prove to be not very useful when in a situation that would require violence, such as a challenge requiring him to fight another contestant. He's also extremely lacking in the physical strength department, so he'd most likely not be the best at the physical challenges (save for moral support).
The Audition Tape: A platinum blonde haired boy sits in a field of variously colored wildflowers. Behind him the sky is illuminated with a beautiful array of colors from the rising sun. The boy possesses a rustic looks, and on his face is plastered a look of contentment. He breathes in, allowing himself to truly take in his surroundings and enjoy it for a moment. In his lap rests an old, tattered, yet loved acoustic guitar. The boy strums it slightly before looking up at the camera. “Welcome, Total Drama.” His voice is higher pitched than most other guys, and possesses a slight nasal quality to it. “I’m Moonbeam, and I’m applying to be a contestant on your show!” He strums his guitar once more and smiles brightly at the camera. “Why should you pick me to be on your show?” He smiles and chuckles slightly “Well…” He pauses, realizing he most likely should have thought it through.
Moonbeam simply shrugs it off, not declaring it a major issue. “Actually, I don’t know.” He chuckles at his own stupidity, but is interrupted by the presence of a hedgehog crawling through the field. Moonbeam reaches out a hand and scoops up the hedgehog, smiling at it. “Hi there, buddy.” He smiles. Suddenly a blue bird flies in as well landing beside him. “Oh hello friend!” This happens for quite sometime, causing the arrival of many other small woodland creatures, each one greeted individually by Moonbeam. Suddenly, out of the woods emerges a large buck. He bounds across the field before arriving, on his way over, he knocks over the camera causing the screen to crack. The camera starts flickering before turning infrared, Moonbeam shrugs and begins to play a song and before singing the camera shuts off, ending the audition.
