Chris checked his watch; one hour on the dot. God he was good. With a winning grin, he addressed the gathered contestants.
"Alright--time for the teams. Amy, Prissy, Hector, Leo, and Sophie, you are now officially the Raging Ducks. Ben, Pansy, Devi, Selene, and Jake, you are the Toxic Butterflies. Go ahead and get in your groups."
After they had more or less split off, he continued. "For your first challenge, you will have to go out and find your mascot. I feel like going easy on you, so I will give you a hint--they can all be found within sight of water.
"Also, according to our legal department, I was technically liable for injuries on previous seasons, but they found an awesome loophole for me. You have all been given a little red "panic" button. If, at any point in the challenge you feel you are in danger, push the panic button three times. At great personal risk, an intern will come to your aid. BUT, you will be instantly eliminated.
"The first team to get their mascot off the top of the 1,000 foot cliff and into the water wins! The losing team gets to pick someone for elimination. Now go!"
OOC: Alright, same drill as last time. You have until next Wednesday to post in this thread, or else your character will be considered a "no show" and eliminated.
Come up with a plan of action in your groups, or strike out on your own to try and find your mascot. The Interns will control any animals or "forces of nature" you might encounter.
If after the first post, you 'vanish' for the rest of the challenge and go a full week without posting, it will be assumed your character hit the "Escape" button and had an Intern come and rescue them, also leading to elimination.
If you get eliminated either way, feel free to post and hang out in the Losers Resort until next season. You will also get your character interview for "Starstalker Magazine" and Celebrity Manhunt, if you're interested.
Getting disqualified for inactivity won't bar you from future seasons--this is meant to be fun, not work, and I understand that real life gets in the way sometimes. The removal of inactive characters is just to help speed things along for those who are actively playing, not to punish inactive players.
