Season 1 Intro--Welcome to Boney Island (Take 2)

"Hello, and welcome to Total Drama Island!," Chris said, grinning at the latest batch of contestants with malevolent good humor, "The thirty of you will be spending the next few weeks here, duking it out to see who gets to take home the million dollars. Now that you're here, there is to be no contact with the outside world, so if any of you managed to smuggle in a cellphone or a PDA I suggest you hand it over to Chef for safekeeping. If I catch you with it later, it won't be pretty."

He looked the batch of kids over, quietly sizing them up for a minute. This was the best they could do? This would be the last time he let the INTERNS pick who would be going on the next season.

"Now, due to Chef sinking my island" he paused to give his partner in crime a dirty look, "I've been a bit preoccupied with organizing construction of a new camp here, and haven't really had a good chance to look over your bios. The bad news is, Wawanakwa is gone forever. The good news is, none of the horribly mutated creatures in the FUN zone were hurt when the island sank. They were all rescued and moved here! So, while you're competing for the million, the mutated freaks from Wawanakwa will be battling with the vicious native wildlife of Bony Island to establish a foothold. Good times!"

Chris paused briefly, letting that sink in. "You'll notice that you have all been given color-coded arm bands. These will identify what team you're on. Magenta bands for the Toxic Butterflies, Orange bands for the Raging Ducks, and Purple bands for the Freaky Frogs.

"Also, according to our legal department, I was technically liable for injuries on previous seasons, but they found an awesome loophole for me. If you'll look at your bands, you'll see that each one has a little red button on it. This is your Chicken Button. If, at any point in the challenge you feel you are in danger, push the Chicken button three times in a row. At great personal risk, an intern will come to your aid. BUT, you will be instantly eliminated."

He paused, looking them over to see if it had sunk in. Not that he cared. So long as they all had those panic buttons, it legally wasn't his fault if one of them died. "Okay, everyone got it? Good! Head on over to the cabins there and put your stuff away! It's all new construction, so you might wanna watch out for nails in your bunks."

Time to begin! If you haven't yet, read the Rules and the Basic RP Forum Etiquette thread. You guys have until Thursday the 19th to post in this thread. Anyone who hasn't posted by that time will be considered to have hit the Chicken Button and dropped out of the competition.

Also, you may notice that you can no longer see the non-contestant Roleplay area. This is intentional. After all, as a contestant, you're not allowed contact with the "Outside World". If you are eliminated later, you will regain access to that board, and lose your ability to post here. If that happens, you will get to go on Total Drama Aftermath, be interviewed for Starstalker Magazine or possibly Celebrity Manhunt, and, of course, lots of time to hang out in the Losers Lounge.

PS. I had a private message asking about this, so I wanted to make it clear. You are NOT ALLOWED to form secret alliances over private messages. Either it happened in this board, or it never happened.

Secret alliances are fine, you just have to roleplay forming them here.
